Popular Houseplant Varieties: A look at easy-to-grow favorites such as pothos, snake plant, spider plant, monstera, and succulents. Each plant’s light, water, and care requirements will be discussed.

STILL: The Art of Noticing will be presented by author and Shoreview resident Mary Jo Hoffman. Mary Jo will discuss her book which showcases 275 astonishing photos from her decade long daily project capturing nature, accompanied by personal essays. It reflects on the interconnectedness of nature and finding beauty every day. Her book has been featured in Martha Stewart Living, Better Homes and Gardens among other publications. She has collaborated with West Elm, Target, the United States Botanic Garden, and the Scottish National Opera.
Mary Jo’s presentation will take place from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the North Oaks Golf Club followed by a book signing. It is free and open to the community, however, advanced registration is required as seating will be limited.
Attendees may opt to enjoy breakfast prior to the presentation from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Gilfillan/Deep Rooms. Advanced registration and is required for the breakfast as well and the cost is $36.00. Priority will be given to garden club members through early sign up.

Mary is the author of The Northern Gardener, From Apples to Zinnias, (Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2017). For 18 years, she edited Northern Gardener magazine, and she currently publishes a garden newsletter on Substack.
